The release date for the reimagined version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches
has been revealed alongside a colourful new poster, an it will arrive on HBO Max on October 22.Warner Bros. has announced that Robert Zemeckis’ remake will be flying into homes just in time for Halloween, as the movie is set to premiere exclusively in the U.S. on HBO Max on October 22. As the Grand High Witch, Anne Hathaway is commanding attention on the red carpet at the centre of the one-sheet, with the secret society of witches (disguised as humans) looking on. Stanley Tucci also appears on the poster, as the hotel manager who unwittingly hosts the witches’ convention, alongside Octavia Spencer, the tough but loving grandmother who will try to put a stop to the witches’ evil plans.
Kristin Chenoweth is also lending her familiar voice to the new adaptation, together with Chris Rock, who is providing the adult narration for the young boy at the heart of the story, played by Jahzir Bruno. He will become the brave but unlikely hero of the film, which is coming from Robert Zemeckis and a team of world-class filmmakers, including Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro, and Kenya Barris.HBO Max launched in May, with a vast library of movies and TV shows on the platform.
